Ron Lybarger has been providing a wide range
of mental health services to deaf and hard of hearing individuals
for the past ten years. He has worked in a variety of
settings including; Kansas School for the Deaf, Minnesota
Chemical Dependency Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals,
Research Medical Center-Deaf Services, Private Practice, and
he is currently Director of Clinical Services for L.E.A.D.
(Leadership through Education and Advocacy for the Deaf) Institute.
He has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis,
and treatment of mental health issues among deaf and hard
of hearing clients. He has been involved in the development
of various treatment resources for deaf and hard of hearing
individuals. Mr. Lybarger is a published author and
a frequent presenter at local, regional, and national conferences
speaking on a variety of issues related to mental health
and deafness.
Mr. Lybarger's educational background includes an Associate
of Applied Science degree (Sign Language Interpreting), Bachelor
of Science degree (Addiction Studies), Master of Arts degree
(Counseling Psychology), and he will receive his Ph.D. in
Counseling Psychology in August of 1999. He holds a Missouri
Certificate as a Substance Abuse Counselor II Certificate
and a Missouri License as a Professional Counselor.
